Introduction

Pressurised habitats are relied upon to segregate hot work from unplanned high consequence releases in hazardous areas. The habitat is essential to ensure safety for the personnel, as well as maintaining integrity of the platform or site. Understanding the nature of the work to be performed inside the habitat as well as managing the hot work is essential to ensure that all hazards have been identified and that all of the necessary precautions have been taken.

Aiken Group have been providing WELHAB habitats since the late 1980s and the technology continues to evolve to be more robust and adaptable whilst always providing the standard of safety expected. The construction is designed to encapsulate any shape or size of area, incorporating all fixtures, piping and obstacles.

This technology has been improved upon since its initial inception to ensure that it is consistently a safe and efficient method of carrying out potentially dangerous activities.

The Aiken Group system is unique and utilises proven and certified technologies to provide flexible, durable and safe habitats for the most demanding jobs.

All components are provided by quality assessed vendors and come with the appropriate certification to ensure that the completed structure is ATEX compliant. This attention to detail means Aiken Group have the only DNV 2.7-2 certified habitat available on the market.

High level budgets and initial designs can be derived from a client outline however for a full design and accurate budgetary cost a survey should be carried out by an experienced member of Aiken Group personnel.
